random observation

I didn't want to post this thought on Facebook, because I know my friends who follow my blog are a little more understanding (closer to me) than the ones on Facebook.
I am seriously shocked / appalled by the number of my friends who are engaged, getting married this summer, but apparently couldn't wait for the marriage before getting pregnant. (They have all announced the engagement several weeks / months before announcing the baby, and aren't far enough along to have been pregnant when they got engaged.) I don't know if they are just too excited about the marriage to worry about birth control anymore or what. But it is kind of disturbing. Not to mention, the first year of marriage is hard enough. Why add a baby to the mix that soon? Getting pregnant on the honeymoon at least gives you 9 months to figure out marriage before the baby. But when you are already halfway pregnant before your marriage? I don't want to offend anybody. It's just something that's been on my mind.

Because people who don't know how hard it is think they can do it all?

I'm right there with you Becca. I think people should wait a couple years before having baby. I mean once you have one, you can't go back. You should enjoy being married and not having any responsibilities!
