fun stuff

So I had a post all ready to go, but it is on my stick which is not in my purse. This is not the first item to get left out of my purse today. I blame the cold medicine.
We had a pretty fun night on Saturday. We went out to eat at our favorite Mexican restaurant. It is over by Fashion Place mall, so we decided to go walk around the mall and burn a few calories. Neither of us wanted to go home and clean, so this seemed like a good idea. I also had a gift card from my mother-in-law from Christmas, that was burning a hole in my pocket. After hearing about the Sharper Image and their issues with gift cards, I dont feel totally safe leaving the gift card unspent, plus I wanted to buy a dress. So wouldnt you know it, Fashion Place is apparently the only mall in the world (ok, that I have ever been to) that does NOT have a JC Penneys (that's where my gift card was from). So we drove down to South Towne, about 10 minutes away. We spent about 2 hours in the JC Penneys at South Towne, while I tried on pretty much every dress in my size. It is so DIFFICULT to find something that fits, looks decent, and covers everything it needs to cover. We narrowed it down to three dresses, all of which required some kind of alteration or cover up to be respectable. My favorite was this purple and yellow dress. It was one size larger than I actually needed, but was the closest on the rack. I figured I could take in the bodice which was the only part that looked too large. The dressing rooms were a complete and utter disaster area. There were clothes littered everywhere, the put-back cart was over flowing, and it was about 100 degrees in there. It was rather awful. As we were deciding (I say we because Alann was very patient and quite helpful), I decided to look through the mess of a dressing room and see if the purple dress in my size was hidden somewhere in the mess. And luckily, there it was! That decided it. I will post a picture when I wear it.
