Shoes

Why is it that when one thing goes wrong, lots of things go wrong? Until about a month ago, I was perfectly content with my shoes. Most of them are showing a little wear, but they are still wearable. Now, they are starting to break, one at a time. There are the white heels that I bought for $3 for my wedding, that Tanner promptly chewed as soon as we got him. Just one heel though... Now one of them squeeks when I walk, which isn't helpful in church, and the heel Tanner chewed is starting to peel off. Then there is the white flat pair that I inherited from Beth when she got tired of them giving her blisters on her pinkie toes. One heel is starting to separate from the sole, and it is REALLY uncomfortable. My brown sandals that I bought to replace the brown sandals Alann broke on our cruise, the strap came out. I am going to try to fix those. My black flats are all stretched out, the insert is coming out of my black pumps, and the lining on my black heels is coming off (possibly fixable). I need to replace 6 pairs of shoes!! (Of course, Alann doesn't believe that I could possibly need more shoes. Men just don't understand. I recently purged several pairs that I won't ever wear, including the mismatched pair of flip flops that Tanner ate opposite feet on. Luckily, that was the end of his shoe rampage.)
Then there is the washing machine saga. Which has actually turned into the laundry room saga. When we left for Christmas, we noticed a small river in the laundry room. We figured it was too big a load that overflowed. When we came back, and after a while, noticed the little river again. Then we realized that it was the washer backing up. We had the pipe snaked, and the problem seemed fixed. This week, we had a RIVER in our laundry room. We pulled the washer out last night, and took the fixtures off. The hot water fixture was very very crusty and rusty. We cleaned it and put it back on. So far, that seems to be the problem. We are hoping that's it, because we really dont want to pull down the wall. On the other hand, the part of the floor under the washer is very clean now. =)

Oh goodness. I can't believe the frustration of old houses sometimes and the problems always seem to crop up at the most inopportune times. Hopefully it was the easy fix! Men really don't understand the shoe thing. I have been trying to replace a couple pairs of shoes for over a year now and A. cant find ones i really like for a decent price and B. simply feel guilty spending the money on shoes. :) Oh well, sometimes you have to just suck it up and get what you need. See you tonight!

Sallie and I have the same shoe issue constantly. She owns literally 60 pairs of shoes. Her running shoes have recently started dying and she wants new ones. My suggestion, wear pair number 59. I'm a dude, I have 1 pair of sneakers, 1 pair of dress shoes, and 1 pair of sandals.

Dan gives me trouble for my love of shoes all the time. However, I don't feel too bad about it when he's the same way about video games. Since the seasons are changing, you might be able to find some good deals on new shoes! It's a good time to look, anyway. If you see something now, you can keep an eye on it until next season and wait to see if it goes on sale. I get some of the best deals that way.

Never feel ashamed of your love for shoes!

We share a love and a need for shoes! Last time I counted I had roughly 50 pairs of shoes. A good majority of them being different colors of flip flops since I live in AZ and I like all the colors and didn't spend much money on most of them. The rest of the shoes are shoes that I wear once a year if I'm lucky so they should last a really long time right? Now though I am in the same predicament as you - Bella has eaten a few pairs of my shoes and all of my work shoes have started to fall apart and I can't find a decent pair that I like for a good price :( I'm going to be shoeless at work soon! Congrats on your good luck finding your shoes - I never seem to see anything I like in the Savers by our house. I go to ross or payless or target for shoes a lot of times or wait for a sale at Famous Footwear - but their shoes are no good lately. Yucky styles! Love you much!
